Recent internal data shows $282 million in land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale for sale in the Silver State. This represents some 174,214 acres of land for sale in the state. Of the 17 counties in the state, Elko County had the most rural property and land for sale. The most expensive piece of land listed for sale in Nevada on Lands of America recently was $9 million, although the median price for land for sale in Nevada was $120,595. The average price of land and rural real estate for sale in Nevada was $415,171. There was 681 acres of sold land in Nevada recorded in September 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over August 2018 data. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $465,639. Elko County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. While Las Vegas casts an outsize glimmer over the entire state, Nevada holds a jackpot of outdoor adventures for those looking for an adrenaline rush beyond the casino floor. Red Rock Canyon is a popular day trip from Sin City, while the state shares a border with sparkling Lake Tahoe. Big-game species here available to hunt include mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk, three sub-species of bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, mountain goat and black bear. With numerous opportunities to hunt species including deer, boar and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Nevada. Nevada is one of the country's top ten biggest states in terms of size, covering an area of 110,567 square miles (71 million acres). In its entirety, 109,781 square miles (99 percent) is made up of land, while the remaining 791 square miles is made up of water.
